My Story by Simple Girl Scraps

Hello and welcome to my first One kit, Two layouts! post.
In these posts I will show you the versatility of designer scrapbook kits by showing you two totally different layouts using the same kit!

I am starting this off, by showing you an older kit by Simple Girl Scraps that I've been really wanting to work with ever since it came out.  Since I am now on Simple Girl Scraps CT and I can work with all of her beautiful kit! Let me show you My Story!

My story is a great kit to scrap your ordinary and not-so-ordinary life!
The most prominent colors are pink, yellow and blue: a beautiful colour combination. And the cork background (paper) is my absolute favourite!
*Formerly part of the December 2012 DSA FIX - please check your files before purchasing!

I wanted the kit at first, because in the description it stated it had two jar elements. I couldn't find them in the preview but let me tell you, they are there! There is one with a glass-like transparent jar and one that's really a journaling card. Just look my layout below!

Layout created using:
kit “My Story” by Simple Girl Scraps
template “Template Challenge Me - March” by Jellebelleke’s Designs
fonts “Housegrind” and“stamPete”

But then I had the kit and I wanted to do another layout with it. I found a photo of a close friend on facebook that is just perfect. This layout will be her birthday present from me to her! :) You think she'll like it?

Layout created using:
kit “My Story” by Simple Girl Scraps
template “Fuss Free - Block Party” by Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs

That was all! And you see, two totally different layouts with one amazing kit!
Go to the store and grab it!

Lots of new releases and some sad news

Hi all.
I have lots of new releases by Dagi's Temp-tations. But I also have some sad news.
Please continue reading to get to know it all.

About a week ago, Dagi came to our inboxes with the sad news that she had decided to quit designing... She has been thinking and strugling about this for a while now and finally made the decission.

Of course I do not like this, Dagi is an amazing designer and I am sure that her talent will be missed. I will miss her. But real life is more important then our life in the digiworld. We all know that and sometimes that means making difficult choices.

The good thing is, that Dagi has told us she isn't going to quite scrapping (nobody ever should!) and she will be making freebie templates every so often. So keep Dagi in your facebook and leave her some love, I know that she would appriciate that.

Now, on to the new releases!
There are many today, because they will be the last ones. There will be a retiring sale since March 7 to March 17, and then she'll close the shop down.

The first templates I want to show you, are the Color Me Pretty Cluster Templates - set 3.

And here is the layout I made. I already showed you this one yesterday, since I used Mandy Kings Grab Bag Let's Go Fly A Kite.

Layout created using:
kit collection "Let's Go Fly A Kite" by Mandy King
template "Color Me Pretty Cluster Templates - set 3" by Dagi's Temp-tations
font "Baskerville Old Face" and "Bella K. Don't Blink"

Next is Take A Bite Volume 1.
Quite different from Dagi's normal style. I liked the chance but had to give it some time to get started.

I have made two layouts with this template pack.
First, a happy one!

Layout created using:
template “Take A Bite Vol.1” by Dagi’s Temp-tations
kit “Hot Cocoa” by Amber Shaw
font “The Great Escape”

And here is a scrap therapy layout.
Everybody needs to do this every once in a while and last weekend was my time. Oh, it was my time indeed.
I used a kit by Mandy King which will be re-released later this month.

Layout created using:
template “Take A Bite Vol.1” by Dagi’s Temp-tations
kit ”Chin Up” by Mandy King
font “The Blue Cabin”

And here is Color Me Stacked Volume 2.

This is the layout I made. It is my entry for the AAM challenge at Gotta Pixel. I used Trixie Scraps collection Siblings Forever.

Layout created using:
template “Color Me Stacked Vol.2” by Dagi’s Temp=tations
kit “Siblings Forever” by Trixie Scraps designs
font “Typo” and “violation”

Those were the last template packs released by Dagi's Temp-tations.
If there is anything you want from Dagi: new releases or older ones, you need to go and grab them NOW. Her retirement sale started today and will end the 17th. After that, all her products will be gone.

Re-releases by Mandy King: Zest and Garden Daydream

No new releases for today, but we do have two beautiful re-releases! Two very different kits, one I already owned and scrapped with. The other is new to me too, and very lovely. Let's check them out both.

Zest

Zest is a beautiful and peaceful collection full of spring feel. I absolutely love the colors and it really brings some sun in my life.

Did I scrap? Yes of course! Here is what I made.

And then on to the second kit.
This is the one I already owned and LOVE!

Garden Daydream

Here is an old layout I made about a year ago.

But I made another one. Because I just love this collection. And it turned out totally different.
I am really happy with how this layout turned out. I love all the layers!

A new month means new challenges!

As of februari 2013, Gotta Pixel has new a new challenge system: the Gotta Pixel Reward program.
By participating in GP challenges, you can earn Pixel Points. Each Pixel point is the equivalent of $0.20, 5 Pixel Points means 1 Pixel Buck.

Please Freeze by Mandy King

Our favourite designer Mandy King comes with a new collection!

When I read that titel in the CT forum, I thought it was a kit we were not yet able to use! But no, it's a very full, beautiful winter themed kit. I am sure you will love it!

And of course I've made some layouts for you to see what you can do with this!
Here's one using a premade clustered and stacked paper. These are so amazing, you really don't have to add anything more to it! (ok, I added the frame, paper and tape, but that's it!)

Layout created using:
premade stacked and clustered paper “Please Freeze Stacked Papers” by Mandy King
kit “Please Freeze” by Mandy King
font quote “Mathilde”
font journaling ”DaddysGirl”

Another layout using photos of my very first home made wreath. I spend a lot of time on Pinterest and had so many inspiration for a winter wreath I just couldn't decide what to make. So I made my own, using my own creativity and products I already had on hand.

Layout created using:
kit and hodgepodge “Please Freeze” by Mandy King
font “DaddysGirl”

And another one because this collection is just too stunning not to use over and over! And see, it's very versatile!

What is that you say? You have more snowy winter photos and you want another kit to scrap them with? Ok then, here is a beautiful re-release by Mandy King.

About Me mini by Mandy King

Were you there? At the "Get to know me, Get to know YOU" chat at Gotta Pixel last night? You could get to know the new GP designer Mandy King! And as you might know, during chats you always get coupons and/or freebies!

Here is the layout I made with the beautiful mini About Me. It's a great mini to just be gifted. It's just so versatile, although it is only a mini!

Layout created using:
mini kit “About Me” by Mandy King
font “DJB Almost Perfect”

By the way, this is my entry for the All About Me challenge at GP. I love that challenge and this month, you need to scrap a layout using the January Challenge Theme: Resolutions & New Beginnings, by picking just one word that represent what you wish to improve for yourself this year.

But of course she also brought some brand new collections to the new store!
