Social Butterfly

Let's have a look at a great kit by Trixie Scraps today: Social Butterly.

Ever since I got my Ipad mini I have been up in social media. I am addicted and I am a little afraid to admit it. But it's true. I love 'my' YouTubers. I check Tumblr every spare minute. I started scrolling through Twitter every morning. I use to do that with Facebook, but not anymore.
So here is the layout I created about it.

A while back my sister made a photo of her cat as if she had made a selfie. I scrapped it using Social Butterfly but I never showed it to you here on my blog. Here it is!

Schloss Clemenswerth

I had a lovely holiday a few weeks ago and here is a double page layout to prove it!

I used two kits because I needed quite a lot of papers and elements and I couldn't be happy with using one or the other. And it shows that these kits can work together really well! Isn't that great?!

The first kit I used is the collab kit called Change Your Fate. Schloss Clemenswerth, what this layout is all about, was used as a hunting house by some high powered person. So this kit is just perfectly fitting the subject of the layout.

The other kit is called Best Year Ever and has beautiful matching colours.

On the Trixie Scraps blog I posted a challenge that you should go and check out!

Here is the layout I made for it, for all the details you should definitely go HERE.

A new release by Trixie Scraps!

Tracy from Trixie Scraps has been a bit uninspired lately resulting in the lack of new releases. But today is different, today this lovely lady and her southern friend Conny bring us a new Templatetopia!

I love templates so I jumped right on it and scrapped a layout.

Layout created using:
A Banner Day vol 2 template by Trixie Scraps
All About Me, The Tweens by Trixie Scraps
The inspiration for this layout comes from the 1 Picture 1000 words challenge over at Gotta Pixel. I really like challenges like this because it makes you thinks and scrap images that I normally would not think of scrapping.

Did you also see my blog post over at Trixie Scraps blog? It's the Fun Font Friday blog because beside templates I love fonts! So when I saw that this spot was still open, I right away put my name on the list. Click HERE to go to the blog post and read some more about the lovely font I choose.

Once Upon A Dream

I love Disney. And Tracy loves Disney too. And that's why there are so many awesome Disney inspired kits by Trixie Scraps Designs. And they are amazing.

This week I've spent some time on http://blogs.disney.com and it's seriously addicting. You can search for your favourite Disney movie and see all blog posts that have been tagged with your fav movie. It's a great place to spent online on a lazy afternoon.

So I had to go back into time and scrap a Disney photo. I love this one.

Hybrid project

I've never really done a hybrid project before but I do always like to see the creations of others. When Two Tiny Turtles came with this hybrid template and my sisters asked me around the same time to create a little something for my parents anniversary, I decided to connect the two.

The Do It Hybrid vol. 2 template by Two Tiny Turtles helps you making a cute little gift box. We're giving my parents two year tickets to the Emmen Zoo, the Netherlands. You have to go to the zoo to buy a ticket and have your photo taken that they put on the card, so we obviousely couldn't do that for them. So we had basicly nothing to give, and I needed to make a gift card/coupon/whatever fun to give. So I made a card to put in the gift box and used King Of The Pride by Trixie Scraps to make it all look pretty.

My parents anniversary is on Valentine's Day. Very romantic nowadays, but it was just an ordinairy day the 39 years ago when they got married.
I placed the box on the living room table before we had dinner in the dining room. We had great food, then went to the living room and had some tea with chocolates and other treats. It was about 9 pm when my mom finally noticed the box.

Yearning to the Olympics

4 years ago I was at the Olympics. I was experiencing it and it was amazing.
Ever since I have been loving this event and even though I really hate the Russian politics, I really wish to be in Sochi right now.

So when I was asked to write this months word challenge for Trixie Scraps and I saw that the date of the challenge was just a day before Valentines Day, I picked the word yearning. Because it's just a beautiful word that's about love but can also be about many other things.

It was monday evening when I started to make my layout for the challenge. My country had just won 7 medals in 3 days and I felt this great yearning for the Olympics. And that's what became my layout!

Swarovski Kristallwelten

During our holiday in Austria this summer we went also to Swarovski World. It is just stunning, all the glittering and shimmering is fabulous. The only thing less fun what the fact that it was very busy. Extremely busy with buses full of tourists.

#Selfie

I try to make a lot of photos this year, at least one photo a day. Of course I forget it many times but on this ordinary saturday I thought of snapping a pic while walking back home. Sometimes scrapping these simple moments can be the most important!

Pops of fire in the sky

I love new years eve mostly for one reason: the fireworks. I do not feel the need to light it myself (what a waste of money! plus I'm too chicken to do it) but I love to photograph it.
This year I think I made some pretty awesome pics.

My word for 2014: Hello!

I've seen and heard lots of people talking about picking a word for the new year, there are even classes around this subject you can follow! So this year I decided to choose a word myself, scrap it and hang it somewhere in my house as a reminder.

I've thought long and hard for my perfect word, until I came along the simplicity of HELLO. It is perfect for me since I want this year to be more about saying yes instead of no. I want to go on new adventures, meet new people and just do new things in general. I want to say HELLO to life this year.

Got Glasses

It's about to scrap an All About Me (AAM) layout these time of year. So I picked up Trixie Scraps Got Glasses kit and scrapped a page about me and my glasses. ;)

I had fun going through my photos and finding at least 3 pretty ones where I wear different glasses. It turns out, I usually wear my pink glasses on the photos I think are 'pretty'. Lol!

For this layout, I used the Got Glasses kit and cardstock. I like pretty cardstock because it adds interest to the page without making it busy with color. Cardstock and glitter are two of my loves when talking about add-ons. But that you most probably already knew looking at my layouts. ;)

Best Year Ever

Did you collect last month's Daily Download pieces at GingerScraps? I hope that you did because by doing that, you now have a fabulous new full kit from Trixie Scraps Designs called Best Year Ever.
I am always excited about GingerScraps DD because the fact that you can collect a full kit for free is totally awesome. And you don't have to stress and come back every single day because the download links will keep up for about 5 days. So no stress with an awesome full kit as a result!
And did you know that one of the challenges at GingerScraps is always to make a layout using last month's DD. Any layout, just use the DD and you'll earn your points. Isn't that amazing? So that's what I did!

My layout is one of the last layouts I needed to make to finish my Berniek goes Canada album. And I finally did. I have decided to print my album with Blurb. I've heard lots of good things about them, plus I had a coupon for 20% off. I can't wait to see my album, on which I have been working for a good 3 years, finally in print in my hands!!

Grab the kit I used in case you didn't collect it as a daily download:

Challenge Thursday {photo}

[this post, written by me, was previously posted on the Trixie Scraps blog]

This week I want to focus on tradition. Most holidays are just around the corner and in these two last months of the year traditions seem to be very important. Whether it's coming together as a family, special food or certain holidays with some special activities you always do.

My layout is about a traditional celebrating in my town, called Ganzenmarkt (Geese Market). I was born and grew up in my town and so I grew up with this local holiday. They way I celebrated has changed quit a bit over the years: from going to the fair and show with my family and even joining in it one year! To walking the fair, eating junk food and laughing all day with my friends in my highschool years. To partying in the evening in bars when I got older. To nowadays when I have to work all day, but we always eat 'snert' (pea soup) and 'oliebollen' (a kind of doughnuts).

Tradition is found everywhere. It's in the big things, but also in the smaller things in life.
Tradition! Since the start of this school year, I work at the same highschool where I went myself when I was a teenager. Walking the halls makes me melancholic sometimes.
Tradition! Going to my grandparents for Christmas and getting the same kind of candy every year.
Tradition! Watching the Dutch childrens choir show on tv every single year, even though I am 27 and there is no child in my home to share it with.

What tradition will you capture on photo and scrap about?

So I had to look through my photos to see if I had anything boyish or jean-ish. And then I remembered the photos of a little me and my nephew. They are just perfect for this collection. Here is how it turned out!

And another layout which I created to join in the All About Me challenge at GP. The template is by Aprilisa, we got it as part of the challenge.
